"Thank You Old Barn!"
I am so very lucky to live in a section of New England where there are still many small family owned farms. I pass by this barn almost every day. I thought it was such a strong and courageous structure. It certainly has worked hard over the years. It deserved to be "painted"! (No pun intended!) After getting permission from my friend the farmer I did this quick oil sketch. I may finish it later and give it to him as a gift! Or I may frame it and give it to him as is!
Happy Autumn! Hug a farmer!
Well, I think it is great as is...it has a lot of charm. I agree, it's worked hard, it deserves to be immortalized!
ReplyDeleteThanks Celeste! I will take your sound advice! Now to frame it and go to the farm!
DeleteKeep painting! I love your newest "block" painting!

Ciao,
ReplyDeletein questo periodo di crisi, potrebbe essere considerato un'emblema!
Un manifesto!
E' un fienile ma potrebbe benissimo rappresentare la situazione odierna...verso il crollo!
Ciao, ciao, Floriana

You and your paint brush certainly captured the weathering and character of this old stately barn. I believe your farmer friend will cherish it forever!
