"Hanging Out East Boston Street Corner"

I recently finished this 24" x 36" canvas acrylic painting.   A labor of love for an East Boston client who wanted a nostalgic painting of hanging out with his friends "way back in the day!" Hard to do because of scarce reference material of the buildings and store fronts from the late 1950's and early 1960's! Client was very happy with the results.  Made him misty eyed!  Love the power of art!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

  1. Hi Michael! Happy to hear you are mending! You have been missed by many in blogland.
You say you are still on the mend but then you go and knock out a 24" x 36" painting!
And you nailed it too! You really captured the nostalgia of the day, the fashion, the characters, the storefronts and even your palette is warm and perfect for the subject. Hope this means we will be seeing more Perchard art.
    Keep painting and mending...

Now are you going to be the Aussie that introduces "Thanksgiving" to your wonderful country? One of our American customs on Thanksgiving, besides watching American football, over eating, and over shopping, is to give thanks! Most of us, as we gather with our family and friends at the dinner table, take turns telling something we are thankful for! NIce! So I am thankful for so many things! One being you and all my other art blogging buddies! So, Happy USA Thanksgiving to you and your family Wendy!
      Your Thankful Art Buddy!
