"Happy Thanksgiving!""

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

In the USA we celebrate Thanksgiving with huge feasts to honor the friendship between the Wampanoags and The Pilgrims!
American football,  overeating, and the beginning of our holiday shopping season are also  important parts of our holiday festivities
Most important though is to give thanks for all the many blessings we have!
I am thankful for many things this year!  One of the things I am most thankful for is art and having so many wonderful art blogging buddies!
Thank you everyone!

(I posted these photos before.  Seem to be appropriate every Thanksgiving!)

"Go Eastie! Beat Southie!" Acrylic 18" x 24" Canvas

I was very fortunate to play high school football for East Boston High School!  On Thanksgiving we would always play a huge game agains our biggest rival, South Boston High!  In all my four years of high school we never beat them!
(EBHS players are in the Blue and Gold colors!)

Statue Of Wampanoag Chief Massasoit! High on hill overlooking Plymouth Harbor!
Massasoit and other Native Americans helped Pilgrims make it through their first very harsh winter in the New World.  Together they celebrated First Thanksgiving!

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you Michael! Love your football painting! Great action and color. Here, the game of the holiday is the U of M/Ohio State game. I'm a go blue fan. Enjoy the family and the festivities in the city steeped in American history.

    1. Hey Buddy! A great Thanksgiving! Thank you David! Hope you did also! Spent it at my nephew's home "in town!" (Bostonians refer to being in Boston as being "in town!") Love cranberries! As a matter of fact one of my "cranberry" paintings was accepted in a local art gallery. I will post later!) The beautiful red cranberries are all ripe now and the bogs are "gobsmaking" wonderful! I think "gobsmaking" means awesome? Not sure. Our buddy Wendy, from Australia used the term once and I love it! Should check what it means before using it!! I will be posting an East Boston summer scene soon! (Hey an alliteration?) Take care David!
      Will keep painting! You also!

  5. Happy Thanksgiving!!! I hope your day was great and that you were surrounded by people you love. What a fun football painting! We were with my husband's family for dinner, so I had time in the morning to do some sketching of the Macy's parade and the pecan pie I made...and then just ease into the day. I am also thankful for good blogging buddies like you who make life more enjoyable.
