Another great art day at MFA class in Boston!
Me and still life set up!
Met wonderful musician playing the hurdy gurdy at Park Street Subway Station. Great painting someday! I love subway musicians.
In the Impressionists wing our task was to do a quick study of any of the paintings. I picked two paintings by Monet and combined them into one. Monet's Haystack series and Cathedral series.
If you look carefully at this stage of the painting I am hoping you can see the haystack on the left and beside it the cathedral. Much fun to combine two in one. Just beginning to add thick colorful paint! Especially top of cathedral. Much more fun left for next class.
Michael! I must say I LOVE what you have done to the Monets by combining them like that! Its a grand idea and I think Monet would approve! You are just beaming beside the still life and I am so impressed by the instrument that the Hurdy Gurdy Man has in his lap. I am assuming it is a hurdy gurdy (duh) but have never seen one quite like that!
ReplyDeleteOla Susan!
DeleteThank you so very, very much! You are so very kind to visit and write such wonderful comments. I appreciate your heartfelt words so much! Thank you Susan!
It is a hurdy gurdy. I asked the musician to make sure. Seeing this wonderful musician so full of character made my day!
Yes, I was beaming in that photo and I was trying so hard to act so very cool! My teacher is fantastic. My classmates rock. They think I am so funny! Even when I am not trying to be funny!
Monet just texted me and he sends his regards and approval. He loves this blog thing.
Take care my art buddy and keep painting wonderful creations for the world to enjoy!
Michael

I love your art Hilda!
Thanks again!

I hope you said hi to Claude for me! Great job of combining the cathedrals and haystacks. Can't wait to see it finished.

Joan!
DeleteI did get a chance to talk to Claude and he sends his very best to you! He loves your blog. However,he is having difficulty writing comments.
I agree with you about street musicians. They remind me so much of plein-air painters. A bit of courage to get out there and perform!
Take care.
Michael
