"I Am Back, Well Almost Back!"

Because of the pain caused by a severe shoulder injury I haven't been able to paint much  the last few months.
Paintings shown here are a little attempt to do some work despite the pain.  Hopefully on the mend soon!

"Boston" Acrylic 30" x 36" Canvas
(When in doubt always paint Boston Skyline again!)

"East Boston Neighborhood" Acrylic 30" x 36" Canvas
(Almost finished for client!  Injured shoulder hampering and slowing the progress!)

"Ocean" Acrylic CAnvas 24" x 30"
(Always feel like painting the sea!)

"Ocean" Acrylic Canvas 24" x 30"
( I could paint wild ocean scenes forever!)

Finally some spring in my little corner of the planet!

I so love all the seasons! Each certainly has its own beauty!

Almost a jungle!

Love this one!  Last winter this six foot high light pole was covered in snow!

Love red geraniums! Very patriotic

Had a little visitor last week!  Love this red fox!

Hope all are well!
Thanks for stopping by!
Please make my day and leave a comment!
Take care!
Michael

  1. now tell me again...what happened to your shoulder? I am so sorry you have had this issue! I can't believe how long it takes to recover from things once you are over 60 years old...it seems ridiculous (I know firsthand!) I love the paintings you have going here. I know you are resilient and that you'll be back 100% soon! Sending up positive healing thoughts for you!

    1. Hi Celeste! Not sure what happened!!! Doctors think it is an overuse injury! Also history of bad shoulders from high school and college football!!! You are certainly right about the healing process as we age! But I am happy to report I am on the mend! Not able to do much swimming laps for exercise yet but hopefully that will come back soon! I so love to swim! Thank you so much for all your support Celeste. Wonderful the great bonds formed from our art blogs! Thank you again Buddy!
Love your art and your blog!
      Take care!

  2. Thanks for dropping in on my blog recently Michael, always a pleasure to hear from you. I'm glad you're enjoying the FIFA womens cup games:).
So sorry to hear you've suffered with your shoulder for so long, and keeping away from what you enjoy so much, painting...that must be hard. I like what you're working on, and hope your shoulder improves soon.

  4. While your shoulder has slowed you down, it hasn't hampered your paintings. Your strong feelings for the sea are clear on your energetic canvases and Boston is coming along great. It's nice to see some part of the country is having summer; Michigan is stuck in what seems to be a very long, wet spring. Hugs.

  5. Michael, I am so glad to see that you are back on the road to painting. I know I would have been bursting at the seams if I wasn't able to paint for that long. Great starts on these. I especially like the energy of the one of the sea and the one of the "East Boston Neighborhood." Thanks for your continued visits to my blog. It is always a pleasure to see a comment from you!

I did have a great holiday weekend! How was yours? I love the Fourth Of July! Every year The Boston Pops puts on a great concert on the Esplanade on the Charles River! Fireworks and Patriotic Music! Nice! We used to go in when we were younger! Now family gets together for a cookout and then afterwards watch the concert on television!
Take care Susan! (I so love your wonderful paintings!!!)

  8. Hey Michael!, so nice to have you (almost) back! I always like your Boston cityscapes, I love the "East Boston Neighborhood" with its misty murky atmosphere. It makes me think of you slowly emerging from your injury, not quite there yet but we are beginning to see it (you) through the murk (pain) again.
Hope you are full strength soon!
    Keep painting and not paining...

    1. Hello David! Thanks buddy! I am feeling so much better. I so missed painting on a regular basis! Now I need to make sure I don't over do it and re-injure my shoulder! I am thrilled you like my work David! I am so glad you noticed the misty murky atmosphere! I so love to paint layers and glazes over dry paint to get that effect! You seem to know my work so well. I tell anyone who is willing to listen how much I love to make the painting emerge from the canvas! I am so off the chart happy that you used the exact words that I often use to describe my process and work. Thanks for your support David! I so hope your get some much needed rain soon!!!!!!
Take care and I will keep painting and NOT paining! (Like that buddy!)

  10. Michael, you are very brave to push through the pain! You would never guess from your beautiful work that you have been suffering with your shoulder. I love all of these paintings and was particularly taken with the fiery colours in the ocean - very Michael Perchard!!
All your flowers are looking stunning - hard to imagine that not so long ago the flower beds were all thick with snow. What a sweet fox! It is a shame that the hummingbirds are so hard to catch on film but I have a very nice image in my mind, and just knowing that you have such amazing feathered creatures visiting you is delight enough!
I hope you get some relief from that shoulder soon!
    Take care Michael!

  11. Hello My Aussie Art Buddy! Hi Wendy! I am thrilled you like my work! So happy to hear from you! Best news is my shoulder is getting so much better. Like seeing "very Michael Perchard!" Made me smile! I am glad you like the flowers. I too am amazed that we have such varied seasons here in New England. Few months ago all covered with wondrous cold deep white snow and now covered with wonderful green foliage and beautiful flowers! Love all the seasons! Still trying to get humming bird photos. Love them so much. Their wings actually hum when in flight. Sometimes so close very loud!!!
Good luck with you book. Eager to know when you are finished!
    Take care Mate!
