"I Think That I Shall Never See A Poem As Lovely As A Tree!" Two Watercolors 9" x 12" Paper

"Two Trees"

"Oak #1"
An old and very interesting oak tree in front of my house was the inspiration for both these water color paintings!
Celia Blanco's fine water colors motivated me to try my hand at painting using this wonderful medium!

Much Fun!

"Oak #2"

    1. Good morning Hilda! How are you? Always wonderful to see your name on the comment section! Thank you so much for visiting my little blog and always writing such supporting and heart warming comments! Always makes me happy! Glad you like my two watercolors. Joan Tavolott and Celia Blanco's blogs were the impetus for me to venture into this wonderful medium! One of the reasons I painted this old oak tree was that it is dying and I fear soon it will be falling down! It is so majestic standing strong. I love to see the wide variety of birds that perch in it! Especially hawks! Thanks again Hilda! Now off to your blog to check out your fantastic art!

    1. Wow! "Exquisite works of art!" Thank you so very much Celia! My Watercolor hero! I so love checking out your watercolors! A compliment from you means so much! Grazie! I do love painting with watercolors. For some reason it seems to be so much fun! Not sure why! I so love seeing the colors blending into one another on a wet paper! I love Homer's watercolors! Once, when I was at the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston our art teacher was able to get us into a very special room to view many of Winslow Homer's watercolors. It was like being in Heaven! The watercolors weren't covered! We all had to wear white gloves and of course couldn't touch the art! But being so close to greatness was almost overwhelming! So thank you so much for so much Celia!
      Bravissimo to you also!
      Ciao!
      Abbracci!
      Grazie!

  3. Michael, I love the way you used so many colors in the bark of the tree!!! I admire anyone who can see colors in the shadows and express the texture so well. You may have found a new niche!!! Many thanks to Celia for inspiring you.

  4. How did Anonymous sneak by your security! --Anyway, you were beautifully inspired by that tree and had two very successful watercolor sessions with that medium. The colors are great and you handled the paint like you've been using it all your life.

    1. Great question Linda!! I don't have a clue how things happen!
I am so happy you stopped by! (As always my friend!) I am glad you like my little watercolors. I so love getting so many positive comments. Always love hearing from you Linda! I do enjoy watercolors. Maybe I will go back and forth with acrylic and watercolor. I even tried so gouache the other day! One of my art teachers works quite a bit in that medium! Thank you for your wonderful words. I have done some watercolors in the past. Not sure why I stopped though! Take care Linda and thanks again!

  5. Michael, both of these trees are gobsmacking! You really have a talent for trees and watercolour and I too am so pleased that Celia's beautiful work motivated you to try the medium. I agree with Linda too - you paint like you've been doing it forever. Keep the trees and the watercolours coming! And all your other stuff too - I love it all!

    1. Okay Wendy! I am not sure what "gobsmaking" means but I love that word and will use it in a positive way! Staring now with a Boston twist! Wendy, your art is so "wicked" gobsmacking!" How was that mate? I am so happy you like my watercolors. I so love your watercolors also. Now I feel negligent by not mentioning your influences! Now that I think of it so many of our fellow art bloggers have a huge influence on me and my art lately! In the past I have done some watercolor work. As I was telling Linda, not sure why I stopped. Maybe time! Thanks so much for so much!
      Good on you Wendy!
Your USA art mate and cobber!
