"Miles to go before I sleep..." Robert Frost

"Two Ocean Paintings"
(Acrylic 20"x30" Canvas#1)
(Acrylic 14"x24" Canvas#2)

I was in the painting zone last night and worked late into the evening!
Working on two paintings at the same time! Still in early stages!
So into painting I was not aware of the time passing!
Kept my studio dark except for some light focused on the canvas.
Great being an artist!

My palette!
I thought it might be interesting to see my color palette!  Beside paint I usually have some gloss medium and modeling paste!

Happy Painting and Happy Thanksgiving!
Michael

  3. I always enjoy seeing the artists studio, and the palette.
I am like you. I often paint late into the night, get into that zone, lose track of time and am disappointed I must go to bed before the sun actually rises for the new day!Dang Nabbit!

    Keep painting...

    1. I am glad you got a kick out of seeing my little corner of the planet!
It is nice to know that you like to paint at night also! Also like to paint during the day! I love the zone. I have even "painted" in my dreams. Go to bed thinking of a piece I am working on and continue in my sleep. Of course in my dreams though! Take care buddy!

  4. You have a beautiful studio, with lots of wall space for hanging art and nice windows. I love how the paintings are coming along! I love the greens and shapes on the big painting, look forward to seeing these when they are finished! It is very difficult for me to work on two things at once but you are well organized. I wish you a happy Thanksgiving!

    1. I am happy you like my studio Celia! Thank you! I love my walls and my windows. I am lucky I am surrounded by woods. I often look out the windows while painting to check out the changing seasons and wildlife! I am so afraid not to be organized! Funny because my work seems at times to be controlled chaos but my painting area is quite organized!
      Enjoy the day Celia!

    1. Hi Catherine! Thanks for dropping by! You are so right! It is thrilling to be in that painting zone! Very zen like for me. I am not aware of anything. Just me and the paint! So very nice! The paintings are resting a bit today!
      Take care Catherine!

  6. Nice studio! It must be fun having enough room to work on two paintings at the same time. Good movement and color in these. Will be back to see them finished. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

    1. Hello Sally! It certainly is lovely to be in the painting "zone!" Love when that happens! I put those paintings on the side for a bit and went back to a couple of unfinished cityscapes! The dinner was fantastic! Thanks for stopping by Sally! Always so nice to hear from you!
      Take care!

  9. Michael I loved seeing your two paintings in your studio - nice to get an insight into your work space. You look super organised and your studio is beautifully bedecked with all your great work. The photo of your paintings and studio is a beautiful piece of art in itself!
I look forward to seeing the finished pieces - you are amazing working on two at the same time!

  10. G'Day Wendy! Well really "G'Night Wendy!" It is about nine pm in Massachusetts!
I am happy you like these two pieces! Also glad you enjoyed seeing a bit of my studio! Interesting that I am so very organized and most of my work appears wild and a bit chaotic to most! Anyway these tow pieces are on hold while I work on some urban scenes for gifts for two very good East Boston friends. Want to finish them by Christmas time! Imagine working on two paintings at once!! I do that often. I am not sure why but it seems to help get my creative genes going. I find it invigorating! Okay my Singapore visiting friend now I am off to check out your blog and comment on your Singapore Adventure! Wow! Good for you Mate!
    Your USA art buddy!
