"All we are saying is give peace a chance!" John Lennon

September 21, 2013 United Nations International Day Of Peace!

No time to make a painting for "Peace Day" so I am posting a photo of me holding  a  peace sign  I made on a trip through the Panama Canal not too long ago!  When I turned toward the huge tug in the background and showed them the sign the crew came on deck and they all threw me the peace sign. The tug also blew its horn over and over again!
In any language the message is universal.  So maybe, even it is just for today, let's
give peace a chance!

  6. Don't feel embarrassed Hilda, I didn't either. Michael, you look so happy. That was quite a response you got from the tug. Warms your heart when people touch one another through common passions. Peaceful Sunday, Michael. Peaceful week.

    1. Hello Linda!
Thank you for writing! I am hoping you are on the mend!
I am not sure how I knew it was Peace Day! Not much in the press or media.
I was thrilled with the crew's response. When they started to blow the tug's horn everyone on the cruise ship took notice! "Who is that guy holding the Peace sign!" It was very heart warming. I guess this old hippy hasn't changed that much since the late sixties!?
Peace to you Linda! And good health!
      Your peaceful art buddy!

I like being thought of as an original character! Thank you my friend! Not too long ago my wife and I went on a cruise through the Panama Canal! Very exciting and so educational! Great jungles, rain forests, animals, and so much more! Loved seeing so many crocodiles in Costa Rica!
I had a very peaceful Peace Day! Thanks Mate!

    1. Hello My Art Buddy Susan!
Imagine my little photo making your heart sing! How great is that! It was so very heartwarming when the crew emerged waving the peace sign and hearing the tug boat horns blaring in approval! Peace is universal! You are correct! I am thrilled, so happy, and still totally amazed that this lucky group of art bloggers has this wonderful opportunity to share our art and our hearts with the world. So, peace to you my friend and continue making great art that makes my "heart sing!"

  13. Celeste!
You must be psychic! I have been struggling lately with painting portraits, buildings, and so much more! For me, if making certain art turns out to such a struggle I know I need to move on! Maybe the art I am trying to make isn't quite ready yet! So! Just this morning, I pulled out a huge canvas and realized it is time to paint what I love, the ocean! So, thank you for your so very touching request! It truly is amazing! I am so humbled and thrilled that you requested a wave painting! Thank you Celeste! Your comment made my day! My plan, and it is always vague so I can have maximum freedom, is to paint a wild and maybe colorful ocean scene with drama, motion ane emotion! Wish me luck! Thanks again Celeste!
