"Top Of Jackson Pollock Stool?" Oil? Acrylic? Grime?

What is Art?
or
 Better still, Who is Art?"

I have been taking classes at the MFA for quite some time!
How is it only this week did I notice the beautiful tops of the art studio stools?
Many use the tops to rest their palettes.  Some sit.
I think this top is spectacular. So very "Jackson Pollack!"
Next week I will post an art studio table top and a photo of the MFA's Pollock collection!

  1. It is a lucky happening Michael. Looks a lot like a Pollock--minus any planning--that's the beauty of it.

  3. Is a big dripping, it is "action painting". The art is everywhere, we have to discover.

  4. G'day Michael!
Isn't is interesting when we suddenly see something familiar from a new perspective? You are right, there is something beautiful about this particular work of art, particularly as it has come about in such an organic manner.
I hope you are enjoying your classes!
How is your garden going Michael? Last I saw of it were the beautiful crocuses. I guess they would be on their last legs now?

I am glad you also thought this little stool as a beautiful work of art.
I am very much loving my classes. Sad that they ended Monday. I am going to post two photos of Jackson Pollock's work from the MFA. So much reminded me of the "Stool!"
Forsythia flowers came and left. The best wild yellows ever! I just planted mammoth sunflowers. Bloom late summer! Most other perennials seem to be blooming late. Some bleeding hearts out and magnolia tree flowers. I will post photos of our wild lady slipper flowers soon! Crocus all gone. See them next year!
      Thanks for writing!
Take care art buddy cobbler mate!

  5. My interior designer says it is an art piece when displayed.
I just like it because it is old....
... which is good because I'm only getting older too!

    Keep painting...
