"First Painting!" Oil Board 20" x 24"

"First Painting!"

I was so very happy to find this piece the other day!  My very first oil painting! I did it in 1968!
Even then I loved painting clouds and the ocean!

  1. There is quite a change in your palette since then! Nicely done. I cringe when I find work that I did back then. lol

  2. wow..that is funny that you painted oceans in 1968--I guess it is your prime subject! One day I want to dig around my attic, because I know I have some drawings from 1968 too! It would be fun to find them---glad you found this...it has a wonderful harmony and interesting exceptional shapes.

    1. Celeste,
I would love to see some of your art from back in the day! We could all have a show and call it "Attic Art!"
You are right about my prime subject. The ocean! Whenever I am not painting the ocean I am planning one! There is so much I love about the sea! So very much!
Thanks for your wonderful comments. I appreciate them greatly!

Congratulations on your 1968 wedding! In 1968 I was a sophomore in college studying education and art! Age Of Aquarius?
