"Happy Independence Day" "Ned's Point Lighthouse" Acrylic Canvas 14" x 16"

"Ned's Point Lighthouse
July 4th?"

Ned's Point Lighthouse is located at beautiful Mattapoisett Harbor on the breathtaking south coast of Massachusetts, USA.   One summer, just before our Independence Day celebration, I started this painting.  Yesterday I decided  to finally finish it!  (Thank goodness I had a photo!)   It is a wonderful little lighthouse located in a fine park.  There is something about a lighthouse that makes me smile!
Happy New Year everyone!
Peace.

"Plein - Air Santa!"

 "Plein - Air Santa!"
I woke up this Christmas morning to a bit of a  white Christmas and the jolly "older" elf plein-air painting!

But seriously it wasn't the real Santa, it was me!

Happiest of Holidays to all my great art blog buddies!
Thank you so much for so much!

"Sky And Waves" Acrylic Canvas 14" x 20"

My vague idea was to paint a quiet ocean scene.
I feel most like an artist when I let the painting take me where it wants to go!  This painting didn't want a calm sea just yet.
Most of the time my  subconscious self produces my best work.  It certainly produces the most unusual and I think the most interesting work!
I hope everyone experiences joy and peace.
Take care.

"Different Holiday Tree Decorations!"

I can't think of a better way to decorate a tree for a holiday or any day!
I painted these little bird houses the other day for some much needed fun.
I hope my bird buddies like them! One has a bit of a Caribbean flair to it.  The other, with its rainbows, is a very small remembrance of the wonderful students and teachers from Connecticut!
Peace.

Me, trying to figure where to hang my "Holiday Tree Decorations!"
I decided to go further into the woods to place these little "Holiday Tree Decorations!"
Bring on the birds!

"I Did Paint!" ("Dancer" Acrylic Canvas 14" x 14")

Because of the horrific tragedy in Connecticut I found it very difficult to paint!
Late that night I forced myself to paint something.  I found this "Dancer" I started a little more than a year ago and thought I would give her a "twirl!"  I am still very sad but I am glad I painted.  I hope somebody "out there" likes it!

"Difficult To Paint Today!"

"My Classroom Door"

Because of the horrific tragedy in Connecticut it is so difficult for me to paint!
I was an elementary and middle school teacher for thirty-five years.  "Sad" cannot even begin to describe  my painful and empty feelings.  My heart and my soul go out to the victims and their families.

"First Painting!" Oil Board 20" x 24"

"First Painting!"

I was so very happy to find this piece the other day!  My very first oil painting! I did it in 1968!
Even then I loved painting clouds and the ocean!

"Out West?" Oil Board 14" x 16"

"Out West?"

I am not used to painting scenes with so many warm colors.  I like the change.    However, I did enjoy painting the cooler colors in the sky. Mmm, I just notice the blue green transition of the mountains in  the middle of the piece. Can you see the hint of buildings  in the center?  Fun to be an artist!
(It is interesting how many people on the East Coast of the USA refer to the West as "Out West" and we on the  East Coast often are referred to as "Back East!")
Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by and maybe even leaving a comment!

"Night Wave" Oil Canvas 24" x 36"

"Night Wave"
(From The Archives!)

I found this work behind a series of ocean scenes I did a few years back!
At the time I painted this I never ever could have imagined I could "post it on a blog" for all to see!
Amazing!
Keep on making art!
Peace.
