"Wet Cranberry Bog Harvesting" Middleboro MA USA Fall 2013

Our Australian Art Buddy, And Fantastic Artist, Wendy Barrett, inquired about Cranberries!
I hope these photos I took a few weeks ago are helpful Wendy!
Must love cranberries!
Especially around Thanksgiving Time in the USA!

(Not the best photos.  Took them into the sun, from my parked car, with my little i phone!)

I took this photo with my i phone a few weeks ago!  Love the red berries against the blue water!

Another photo of the same scene.  Look carefully to see the workers using the large hoses to vacuum the wet berries onto the truck!

Fresh berries are so beautiful!  Love the variety of reds!  These were packed in a wooden box and sold at a local supermarket!  Plenty of cranberries will be eaten this Thursday on Thanksgiving!

  4. FANTASTIC photos Michael! So very interesting and different to what I could have imagined. If I'd thought about it at all, I would have imagined that cranberries grew and were harvested in much the same way as blueberries or raspberries. I so appreciate you posting the photos!! Enjoy them with your Thanksgiving dinner!! Have a wonderful day of it!
    Your art Cobber,

    1. Okay Wendy, now you have seen cranberries being harvested and got a chance to see the bogs flooded! Aren't the red berries floating in the blue water beautiful. Last year I posted a few photos of my cranberry bog paintings. One pretty realistic, the other two off the charts wild. Maybe I will post them again!
Maybe you could start a little Thanksgiving tradition in Australia. I plan to google holidays in Australia and around the world!
      G'Day Mate!
      Michael
