"Cranberries And More!"

Some of our art blogging friends showed an interest in cranberries.
The first photo shows a bowl of cranberries prepared the way my family enjoys them!
(There are many ways to prepare cranberries for Thanksgiving!)

The second photo is of a partial sample of our Thanksgiving meal.  It is pretty typical except for the lasagna!
We also have are a large variety of drinks, appetizers, desserts, fruits, rolls, breads, candies, and so much more!

This year Thanksgiving and the beginning of Hanukkah fell on the same day.  Many Americans combined the two holidays to make Thanksgivukkah!  Nice! More great food and celebration!

A bowl of cranberries.  Cooked with sugar and some orange juice then chilled.   Nice addition with roast turkey!

Clockwise.. Roast turkey, bread stuffing, squash, lasagna, string beans, mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy! The cranberries are in the center of the plate!
Most Americans start of with a similar meal and then add their own families' cultural favorites! We add lasagna because of the beautiful Italians in our family!

  1. Well, that food all looks delicious! I would definitely be on board for lasagna on Thanksgiving! I confess to not being crazy about "traditional" cranberries instead of the jellied version...but I will allow as how you would like it because of it's old-timey-ness! Happy Holiday, Michael!

    1. HI Celeste! The lasagna was the best! Especially when a bit of cranberry sauce mixed in! I had a ball. Many family members over! Ate, laughed, and did quite a bit of singing! I hope you had a great holiday Celeste!

  2. ...and some of us make Thanksgiving last a bit by doing a repeat of the meal. We went to my SIL's for dinner so my husband wanted our own turkey too. We are probably having it tomorrow if I get home early enough to pop it in the oven...then I'll paint it when it comes out. lol Enjoy!!!

  7. Hi Michael,
So pleased to see that you had such a great Thanksgiving Day. I enjoyed seeing the very hearty fare you enjoyed on the day - particularly the home-made cranberry sauce. Such a great tradition, I can see why you enjoy it so much. I was in Singapore on Thanksgiving Day so I wasn't able to comment on the day. I am just catching up on everyone's blogs now. You have been super prolific this past week - it makes it seem as if I have been away for weeks as you have so many great posts to catch up on!
