"Palette Knife Only!" Oil Board 18" x 24"

I did this oil quite a few years back! One of my first paintings.  Found it while cleaning the studio. Very quick study using only a palette knife. Interesting to see how my work has changed over the years.

  1. Bonjour,

    Gros bisous

  5. Hi Michael, I love the texture in the painting. You did a great job with the palette knife and created a very interesting and mysterious mood with the colours. Have you unearthed any other surprises while cleaning up?

      Hi Wendy!
Always happy to hear from my Australian Cobber! You are right. The textures and colors are very mysterious! Which is good! Yes, I did find some more paintings from the past! "Paintings From The Past!" Mmmm that sounds like a good idea for a future post! Thanks Wendy!
      Love all your latest creations!
Don't give up on the clouds! I love the wiped out effect!
      Take care Mate!

  7. Hello Joan!
Do very good to hear from you! You are the best! You are so very, very productive! I love all your work!
You are right! I tend to have stayed with the same palette over the years. Maybe I will get out of my comfort zone and try some new colors!
Take care Joan and thank you!

  8. Beautiful use of the palette knife. A lucky find Michael. I think we all have our favorite palette colors. Mine showed up in the paints I chose for the walls of our house! Maybe we're programmed? :-))

  9. Hi Linda! Thank you my dear art friend! Always so nice to hear from you! I think you are right about color choices! And maybe we are in fact programmed. Always liked certain colors from day one!
    Thanks again Linda!

  10. Hi Michael,
I have been enjoying this journey through your past (artwork) with these last few posts. A lot is revealed to us, and I'm sure you too, by looking back.
This one has a great color palette and a great heavy atmosphere, like we find along the coast.

    Keep painting...
