Wow! Michael!!! You did a beautiful painting of this greyhound!! She reminds me of my Italian greyhound mix except my dog has a shorter nose!! I love her markings! Wonderful piece!!!!
Wow! Thank you so much for that "Wow!" Hilda! Positive comments mean the world to me. At times it can be so difficult to put work out there for all to see. It is so important we artists support one another! Thank you for all your wonderful words! They truly bring me great joy! I am glad this piece reminds you of your little dog! Art can do wondrous things! Keep on making great art Hilda! Love your work! Michael
Thank you Joan! The little girl loved the painting. She often made little art works for me and that is why I had to return the favor! No, this is not her dog. At the time she was living in an apartment in the city and this was the closest she could get for her dream pet! Thanks for your wonderful comments Joan! Mean so much to me! Love your blog! Michael
Hi Michael, This is such a special painting! You have captured an ethereal sweetness in the dog's face, enhanced by the soft colouring of the background. I love the shine on the nose and the soulful eyes. Your friend's daughter must have been thrilled with the gift! Fantastic work!! I hope your ear is all better now. I had noticed a while back that Boston and New York had been getting very high temperatures - in the high 30's Celsius. Are they normal temperatures for summer or due to an out-of-character heat wave?
Hello My Australian Art Buddy! Hi Wendy! Thank you so very much for you kind words! I am so happy you took the time to point out so many things about this work that you like! Plus, your writing is beautiful! The little girl loved the painting! Said she would treasure it! Nice! My ear is on the mend! Thank you. I have to have some more work done. Spent too much time in the sun as a boy! New England has the weirdest weather ever! Some summers are hot! Some are not! Some times we go through long heat waves and sometimes temperatures are quite the opposite. The humidity is what makes the heat very tough! The children and young people love the heat. Chance for them to take advantage of our wonderful sea coast! There is a saying about the New England weather..."If you don't like the weather just wait a minute and it will probably change!" Or something like that! Take care and thanks for so much! Your USA art cobber! (My computer keeps wanting to change "cobber" to "cobbler!" Michael
Thank you Susan! I hope so! I like to imagine her enjoying this piece when she is much older and maybe even showing it to her children! Thank you again Susan! Michael
Thank you Celeste! It was a different way for me. I don't usually take my time and plan so much detail. A labor of love I guess! I remember someone telling me to "find my arrt voice" because I painted many varied pieces in many different ways. I should have told them I know my voice and I am multilingual! Thanks for so much Celeste! Michael
Thank you Celia! Grazie! That soft palette is so different for me. Much fun and disciplined work. A good experience! The recipient was thrilled. Thank you! Michael
such serene expression you've captured on the face of this greyhound, i'm sure your friends daughter must have been very very happy with this painting gift.
this is great Michael. What a beautiful, sweet face. The painting has been catching my eye since you published. I finally got a chance to come tell you to keep on painting--this is really a different genre for you, and you are quite great at it.
Hello Linda! I am so glad you liked this one! Especially the face. it was so much work! It was good for me to paint outside my comfort zone! Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment! I am blushing! Thank you for so many visits and so many wonderful comments Linda. They make my day and make me very happy! Take care. Michael
I must admit, I thought a greyhound was a bus! ; ) Anyway, you did him (the dog) justice. I have known a greyhound or two and you did capture the breeds personality perfectly. Keep painting away...
Hi Buddy! It is so nice to have a good laugh. Thank you! Now a smile! Thanks David! It is always good to hear from you! This blogging thing is still so very amazing to me. Imagine an artist from East Coast sharing thoughts with a fellow artist on the West Coast! Now I am on face book! That is very interesting. So many people from the past! Take care David! Art is so very important. Keep on! Michael

Nice gift!!! Good work on her coat. The greyhounds always seem like such well-behaved dogs. Is this her dog?
