"Back To Basics!"

"MFA Acrylic Class"
I started an acrylics class at the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, USA!
A very interesting review of basic acrylic painting. I did this piece for homework on 11" x 14" canvas board.

Quickly lay down a wash and sketch in some basic shapes.

Add lights and darks.  Define objects.

Add a bit of color!
Voila!

  4. Looks like a great class you are attending Michael. I like seeing your progress and will look forward to seeing your finished piece. The tonal qualities look great. Have you been visiting the museum's exhibitions while you are there for inspiration? I would love to visit Boston one day.

  5. Ciao Michael,
    buon anno!!!
    Ciao, abbracci, Floriana

So different for me to do still lifes. Also a challenge to do any "disciplined" work. It is very good for me!

    You are so very kind!
It is funny you mentioned me getting an "A!" During the class I did scribble an "A" on one of my pieces as a joke. I also wrote, "Great work Michael!" Everybody got a good laugh! Even the instructor! It is so very important to have fun at times!
    Take care.
    I love your art!
