"Watercolor Lady" Watercolor 14" x 20"

I thought I would have a little bit of quick fun with this one.  No planning or much thought involved.  I started to paint and then decided to "let the painting take me where it wanted to go!"
Great fun!  Love the shapes and colors!
(I was in Boston for most of last week.  I did a few paintings and sketches that I will post later. I love the city.  I spent some time at the MFA visiting with my "art buddies", Van Gogh, Turner, Homer, Hopper, El Greco, Gauguin,  Cezanne,  Monet, Manet, Picasso, Pollack, and so many more.  Museum fatigue set in soon but it was worth it!)
Keep making art and think of our friends in New York and New Jersey!
Peace.

  1. Wow! Michael this is really a stretch and a very good one indeed. I love the composition. I love the way you broke up the planes. You were obviously positively affected by your buddies. Museum visits are so inspiring.

  2. Oh I am thinking about those affected in NJ and NY...I feel very guilty that I am in a nice dry heated home with electricity! I hope everyone gets what they need....!
Love the watercolor woman...love where she "took" you!

    1. Thank you Celeste! Painting this one was fun.
I know what you mean about our friends who are suffering now. Let's wish them well and give them hope and courage.

  3. Hi Michael,
Sounds like you had a good time in Boston, look forward to the paintings and sketches from your trip.
Boy, you hung out with some of my art hero's! I didn't even know they were still alive! ; )

I can see the inspiration you got from the visit in this painting, an amalgam of artists channeled through your own hand! It vibrates with energy!

    Keep painting...

    1. Thank you David. I posted a few photos of the trip and one quick unfinished trolley painting. I love all artists but those buddies I mentioned are some of my favorites. They told me to give you their regards! They kept whispering to tell David to keep painting and posting. I don't think they understood blogging too well.
Take care my West Coast Buddy!
