"Veterans' Day U.S.A. Three Paintings Oil Mixed Media Canvas 12" x 24"

"Veterans' Day 2012"

This Veterans' Day, and every day, I think it is so important to thank those who gave so much for our country.
I would especially like to thank Sgt. Peter Damon, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, USA.
Sgt. Damon is a friend of mine who is a severely disabled Iraqi War Veteran.  Sgt.  Damon also happens to be a great artist.  On this Veterans' Day I ask you to check out his blog, Sgt. Damon's Art, and thank him for his service and check out his wonderful paintings.  I know he would be thrilled to hear from you.
Thank you so very much.
Michael

 "Our Flag"
I left this image "unfinished" because stopping when I did saved the integrity of the piece and gave it the emotion I was trying to convey!
I am so proud and thankful to all servicemen and women but because my brother is a Marine I have a special fondness for United States Marine Corps.  I hope this painting depicts the huge amount of respect I have for our brave men and women in all the armed forces.  I hope we all will never forget those who gave so much for our country and so many countries throughout the world.
Semper Fi!
This last painting says it all for me.  With all the humility I can muster I dedicate it to all the disabled veterans.  The blue forget me not flowers signify the spring flowers that grew on the graves of many of the World War I servicemen who died to help keep the world safe and free.  This Veterans' Day it is so important that we think of our veterans and try to make time to thank them for their service.

I am so glad you commented on this work! God bless your son and your dad! I am so happy you liked my flag. As artists we certainly take a chance posting our art for all to see. When I posted this blog I was a bit nervous. Our wonderful troops have given so much to our country and I wanted to make sure my art honored them in some small way! I can see why you have a fondness for Marines! I am so thankful for them! (All USA service men and women!)
      Semper Fi Stephanie!
(I love your art and your blog! I will visit again!)
