"I Love The Ocean!" Acrylic Canvas 24" x 30"

"The Ocean Rocks!"

I love just about everything to do with Nature!  Especially the ocean!
I  start  with an idea but like my buddy Picasso says, "Make it a vague idea!"
I could paint the ocean this way forever!
If you look very carefully at left center of painting you should see a bit of a light spectrum caused by one of many prisms  hung in my studio.  I didn't see it when I was taking this photo.  Just noticed it now while posting this entry.  I think it adds a bit of fun and a bit of mystery to the painting.
I hope you like this piece as much as I enjoyed making it!
 Paint on!
 Michael

  2. ooo yeah...the prism is an added benefit--you could paint that in! Well, your love of the ocean does shine through here. I love how vast and non-specific it is....dreamy.....just like the ocean

I think the movement of the ocean is one of its main attractions to me!
I am glad it shows and you noticed it and mentioned it!
      Thank you!
I love to leave many works abstract like! Keeps the artist and the viewer wanting more and thinking a bit?
      Take care.

  6. Ciao Michael,
i tuoi quadri hanno molta forza e trasporto! Sono sempre un po' "apocalittici" e secondo me questa è una grande qualità perchè trasmettono energia e sogno insieme... Non è poco vero?

  9. I love the power and beauty of the ocean too - and you have captured both exceedingly well with this piece. It leaves much for the viewer to imagine while conveying the forceful excitement and energy of the motion!

As always, it is so nice to hear from you! I very much appreciate your fine comments and visits!
I am so glad you noticed my attempt to capture so much about the ocean! Thank you! I am also thrilled that you understood my reason for making this piece closer to abstraction than representational! When I am in the "zone" I believe the painting does most of the work and almost directs itself.
    I love your work!
    Paint on!
