"Making Slate Paintings For A Cure"

This weekend I am hoping to sell some painted New England roof slates at a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society at my niece's house.  She and my wife are so very fortunate to have survived cancer.  Wish me luck.

    1. Thank you Susan!
The show was a huge success. I sold slate paintings and canvas paintings. Thank you also for your well wishes. Now back to painting some wild ocean scenes or maybe a New England Fall Foliage piece with crimson red cranberry bogs!

  3. Hey Michael,
New England roof slates, I like this idea. I pulling for you, hope they all sell.
You're a good man to offer your work to this fundraiser. My Dad survived MS for 27 years until cancer got him so I know how important the cause is.
Happy to hear your wife and niece both survived cancer.

We did very well at the show. I sold many pieces and got some orders for some commissioned work. I am glad I was able to make some money for this worthy cause.

  6. This was a great idea Michael. It sounds like your sale was a wonderful success. I, too, am a breast cancer survivor, but it never occurred to me to show my gratitude by donating my art to the cause. Thank you for showing me a way.

    1. Linda,
My heart goes out to you! I am speechless.
Thank you for mentioning you have survived breast cancer! Fantastic doesn't begin to describe the joy I feel that you are okay. I am so sorry you and thousands of others have to go through the very sad ordeal of having cancer. My wife often says, "Today is a gift. That i why we call it the present!" You and your fine art are presents for all! Take care my art buddy.
